How to Cook

  • Frying
  • Roasting

1. Thawing (if frozen):
Refrigerate 24 hours for every 4–5 pounds of turkey. Keep in its original wrapper on a tray to catch any juices.

2. Preparation:
Remove giblets. Pat dry with paper towels. For extra moisture and flavor, brine 12–24 hours before cooking. Season inside and out with salt, pepper, and herbs.

3. Roasting (recommended):
Preheat oven to 325°F.
Place turkey breast-side up on a rack in a roasting pan.
Roast uncovered until the internal temperature reaches 165°F in the thickest part of the breast and 175°F in the thigh.

Approximate cooking times:
14–17 lbs → 3½–4 hours
Tip: For golden skin, brush with melted butter or oil during the last hour of roasting.
